PRINCETON, NJ(SMI-GLOBAL-WOMEN-UNIVERSITY-SPORTS-MAY 04-06, 2025)-Sky Carrasquillo(6), Jenna Collignon(5) & Taylor Lane(3) combined for 14-goals in the attack as the Yale's Bulldogs defeated Princeton's Tigers 17-6, in the 2025 Ivy League championship game on Sunday's noon rainy game at Sherrerd Field, Princeton University.
With the win, the Bulldogs win its 2nd straight Ivy League crown, and punched its direct ticket to the 2025 NCAA tournament back to back for the first time in school program history.
This will be Yale (14-3, Ivy 5-2) fifth participation in the NCAA tournament who will play host for the second consecutive year the first & 2nd round round of the tournament as one of the 8-seeded teams on Friday May 09, and Sunday May 11, at Reese Stadium, Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.
The Bulldogs will open against University of Albany on Friday May 09, at 1:00pm ET while Ivy League The Brown's Bears will face #17 Syracuse at 4:pm with the winners advancing to the second round and play on Sunday May 11, at 2:00pm to determine who will advance to the quarterfinals.
After both teams battled back-and-forth and Yale leading 3-2, at the end of the first period, The Bulldogs exploded with a 5-1, run in the second frame, and held the Tigers scoreless for approximate 20:22 in the half to closed-out the 2nd period 8-3, in favor of Yale. Attacker Jenna Collignon (55 & 56) and midfielder Sky Carrasquillo (41 & 42 goal for the season) led the attack scoring two goals each while Taylor Lane ( 32) scored from a free position in the 5-1, run at the half.
Princeton tried to regroup in the third and scored the first goal of the frame through Nina Montes (10 goal of the season) from a free position to cut the deficit 8-4, but Yale scored 7-unanswered goals to make it 15-4, to put the game away and held the Tigers scoreless for another 16:31' between 3rd & 4rd period to sealed the 17-6, victory and the 2025 Ivy League crown.
The 7-0, goal run was led by attacker Jenna Collignon (57,58, & 59) and midfielder Sky Carrasquillo (43, 44 & 45 goals for the season) with both scoring three goals each while Taylor Lane ( 33) scored her 33rd goal of the season with the assist by Sky Carrasquillo.
