Team USA Defeats England 2-1 & Advance To The Finals with the Opportunity to Win Their Fourth FIFA World Crown….!

FRANCE(SMI SPORTS,06.7-07.07.19)-The US defeated England 2-1, in a semi-final match and advance to the finals for the third consecutive FIFA World Cup at the Women's World Cup Soccer France 2019.

 

With the victory today, Team USA who's ranked #1 and has won 3 FIFA world cup titles (1991,1999 & 2015) in 8 participations, will have the opportunity to win their fourth world cup crown when they face the winner of the Netherlands Vs. Sweden match who play tomorrow on another semi-final game, on Sunday July 07, at 11:00AM at the Lyon Olympic Stadium in Décines-Charpieu, France.

 

An exciting match from start to finish between two top ranked teams USA (World ranked #1) and England (#5), whom fought and played hard to win the match and advance to the finals.

 

The USWNT opened the scored very early on the game at the 10' minute, when on a offensive counter-attack through the right-side corner, US' defender Kelley O'Hara centered a perfect ball inside the box (18'), finding Christen Press who with a header scored the first goal of the game and gave the Stars & Stripes a 1-0 lead over England.

The game gained momentum after the US took the lead, and the British answered back with a goal of their own with a counter-attack at the 18:39' minutes. Lionesse's forward Beth Mead received a ball through the left-side field corner and centered a low rolling ball inside the 18's, finding Ellen White who sneaked between two US' defenders and tapped the ball into the net to tied the game at 1-1.

The game got heated-up and both team began to pressure on the midfield,

trying to control ball and move forward with numerous counter-attacks back and forth.

The US took lead once again at the 30' minute, when US' midfielder Lindsey Horan with the ball at the lower-side left field, centered a perfect ball inside the small area 18', finding USWNT's top scorer Alex Morgan who scored her six goal of the Women's World Cup France 2019 with a header to make it 2-1 US over England on her 30th birthday and sealed the victory for the Stars & Stripes.

England kept fighting the rest of the game with numerous attack till during a break-away at the 67' minute, British's Ellen White got half a foot in front of the US' defenders, ran with the ball alone and scored but it was nulled and she was found to be off-side, when the play was revised by the " VAR".

The Lionesses had one more chance to even the game and still with hope to win the game at the 81' minute, when US' defender Becky Sauerbrunn clipped Ellen White inside the 18' from behind and a penalty foul was called after reviewing the " VAR ". England's defender Steph Houghton was the player designated to kick the penalty shot but it missed when it was blocked by US' goalkeepr Alyssa Naeher.

A sensational game with both team gave their best on the field, with the US

advancing to the final match on Sunday July 07  against either the Netherlands or Sweden and chance to win their fourth world crown overall in 8 participations.and
