NEW YORK, NY (SMI FASHION, MARCH 2019) The Fragrance Foundation announced they will honor Tom Ford with the Hall of Fame Award at the 2019 Fragrance Foundation Awards on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center in New York City. This year’s ceremony will honor the industry’s creative achievements and recognize the great accomplishments in the field.
Tom Ford is an award-winning American fashion designer, film director, screenwriter, and film producer. In April 2005, Ford announced the creation of his eponymous luxury brand, having previously served as the creative director at luxury fashion houses Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent until 2004. The TOM FORD brand offers a complete collection of Menswear, Womenswear, Accessories, Eyewear, Beauty and most recently underwear and timepieces.
In 2006, Ford created TOM FORD Beauty, with the launch of Black Orchid, a scent that went on to receive international accolades, including several Fragrance Foundation Awards. Since then, he has created some of the most iconic scents in the world.
In addition to his achievements within the fashion industry, Ford also wrote, produced, and directed the Academy Award nominated films A Single Man, as well as Nocturnal Animals.
Says Tom Ford, “Scent, in its many iterations, is something that I have always had a strong passion for, and to be recognized for my work in this industry by the prestigious Fragrance Foundation, is a true honor.”
Each year, the Hall of Fame Award goes to an extraordinary talent and leader in the industry, recognizing their contributions to the world of fragrance. Tom Ford, one of the boldest artists in fragrance, will join industry veterans such as Donna Karan, Marc Jacobs, Carolina Herrera, Estée Lauder and more in the Fragrance Foundation Hall of Fame.
