Photo: Princeton Women's Soccer Claims 2024 Ivy League Crown

PRINCETON, NJ(SMI-GLOBAL-SPORTS-UNIVERSITY NOV. 08-11, 2024)-The Princeton women's soccer team defeated Brown 2-0, in the Ivy League championship game to claim its first Ivy League tournament title at Roberts Stadium, Princeton University.

With the win, The Tigers who also won its 11th Ivy championship on the regular season last weekend, earned a direct berth to the NCAA post season tournament to face 4-Seed Virginia on November 15, at Klockner Stadium, in Charlottesville, Virginia.

After thirty-minutes of play without any scoring in either-side, forward Drew Coomans opened the score to put Princeton in front 1-0, over Brown at 34' mark of the first half. Midfielder Kate Toomey centered a long pass inside the 18',  directed to Coomans that was intercepted by Brown's defender Kyra Treanor who failed to clear the ball but instead gave it to Drew Coomans who scored with a blooping left-footed for her 3rd goal of the season.

In the first 2' minute of the second half, The Tigers increased its lead of 2-0, over Brown when forward Heather Macnab centered a corner kick inside the 18' through he right-side field finding midfielder Lily Bryant who scored with a right-footed volley over the head goalkeeper Bella Schopp for her third goal of the season and seal a 2-0, victory for Princeton over the Brown Bears.
