PRINCETON, NJ (SMI-WOMEN-SPORTS-UNIVERSITY-FEB 03-04, 2024)-The national ranked #25, and 2023 Ivy Madness Women's basketball tournament champions "The Princeton Tigers" defeated  the Brown Bears 76-63, in Ivy league competition with four players scoring in double figures on Saturday's afternoon game at Jadwin Gym, Princeton University.

With the win, Princeton improves to  17-3, overall season record, and 7-0, in Ivy League conference while extending its winning streak to twelve games.


Princeton took a commanding lead in the first 3' minute with a 8-2, run led by Madison St Rose who scored couple buckets (layup & jumper) and Chet Nweke added another layup from inside the paint for 8-2, lead in favor of the Tigers with 7:17 left in the first frame.

The Bears answered back with a 8-4, run in a span of 4' to cut the lead of the Tigers 12-10, with Isabella Mauricio scoring couple triples and Kyla Jones adding a basket with a jumper from inside the paint.

With 3:49 left in the first period and Princeton leading 12-10, the Tigers scored in a 8-2, run to closed-out the first frame 20-12, in favor of Princeton.Guards Chet Nweke scored couple baskets (Layup & Jumper) while Parker Hill and Madison St Rose added 4-points with a jumper from inside the paint.

In the second quarter, Princeton picked-up where they left-off and increased their lead by 17-points with a 9-0, run during span of  3' to make it 29-12, for the Tigers with 7:38 remaining in the second frame.Madison St Rose and Kaitlyn Chen led the attack hitting back-to-back triples and Chet Nweke added a Layup and a FT in the run.


Brown did not back-down ad tried to get back in the game scoring on a 8-0, run to cut the deficit by 9, with 5:55 left in the half. Olivia Young led the attack with a layup and a triple and Grace Arnoli added another shot from outside the arc to make it 29-20, in favor of the Tigers.

Princeton kept the pressure and out scored the Bears 11-6, the rest of the frame increasing with the Tigers heading to the locker-rooms leading 40-26, at the half.


In the 3rd & 4th period, Princeton dominated the floor and beat the Brown Bears in most
of the game stats; 25-11, in points off turnovers, 21-5, in the 2nd chance points, 14-4, in the fast point break and 44-20, points in the paint.


The Tigers played a well synchronize game plan on the floor defensibly and offensively that resulted in a well deserved victory of 76-63, over the Brown Bears.

Princeton were led by  Madison St Rose 18-points and 2-triples, Chet Nweke scored 18-points, Kailyn Chen added 18-points, Skye Belker contributed with 11-points while Ellie Mitchell scored 6-points, recorded 3-steals and 11-Rebounds in the win.
