NEW YORK (SMI-WIRE,01.03.15)The NYU men's basketball team won its 18th consecutive annual NYU Holiday Classic by defeating Bridgewater State University, 78-73, during the first weekend of 2015 @ Coles Sport Center, NYU University.Both teams played a very tightly-contested game, trading baskets back & forth and keeping the score within reach.NYU,after seeing their 11-point lead evaporate in the second half to just three with time winding down, when guard Max Ralby shot a three-pointer out of the arc with just 36 seconds remaining giving the Violets a comfortable six-point lead and sealing a five-point victory.

NYU were led by three players in double figures with Evan Kupferberg scoring 20 points & fourteen rebounds.

Costis Gontikas (Athens, Greece) added 12 points ,6 rebounds, while Max Ralby contributed with 10 points in the victory.

There were 5 score Tied & 2 lead changes.NYU shot 54.4% from the floor,35.7% from the 3-point out of the arc & 57.9% F.T.

With the win, NYU improved 7-2 overall, while Bridgewater drops 6-4 overall.
