Recent News:  NYC F.C. Loses 2 Montreal 3-2 on Frank Lampart's Debut !

NEW YORK (SMI-WIRE,08.01.15)The NYC F.C. fall to Montreal 3-2 in a close game & Frank Lampard's debut  in the MLS with NYC F.C. during a saturday' afternoon game & in front of a Sell-Out crowd of 27,465 @ Legendary Yankee's Stadium NYC.

A game where Frank Lampard finally made his MLS' debut with NYC F.C., when He replaced Andrew Jacobson in the second half immediately after David Villa scored from the penalty shot  and receive a tremendous ovation applause. “I think the fans have supported the team fantastically and they did for me today,” Lampard said. “It’s up to me now to repay that by playing well"."It was good to finally get on the field and hopes, with a full week of training and treatment ahead, that he can push for a starting spot in the third and final match against the New York Red Bulls next Sunday in Harrison" said Lampard after the game.

Montreal opened the score in the first 5th minute when Dominic Oduro ran down the left field line and kicked the the ball through goalkeeper Josh Saunder's legs for the 1-0 lead.NYC F.C. had control of the ball during the first half but the Montreal' s Impact contra-attack were more effective when in the 32nd minute, Ignacio Piatti scored with one-touched a long ball over  Josh Saunder's head into the net for the 2-0 lead at the end of the first half.

In the second half David Villa cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 68th minute giving a chance for NYC F.C  to regroup it's offensive attack but Piatti scored his second goal on a penalty shot to make it 3-1 with 6 minutes left into the game.McNamara scored couple minutes later to make it close 3-2 but NYC F.C could not find the equalizer.

Andrea Pirlo made his first MLS start and played all 90 & Lampard joining him along David Villa playing together for the first time in the season. “I hope I’ll be able to continue to improve,” the Italian icon said. “Today I felt fine even though it was very hot. I’ve been training for 10 days so it’s not so much a matter of how many minutes I play or don’t. The issue is always to keep playing well.”minutes,Both scored off long balls over the top that Kreis said was a result of a lack of communication, quick decision making and pressure on the service. Kreis was especially upset about his team’s effort in the first half in a game that could have pushed NYCFC over the playoff line. With the loss the NYCFC are three points back on Montreal for the sixth and final playoff place in the Eastern Conference, having already played three more games.
