NEW YORK (SMI-WIRE,08.01.15)The NYC F.C. fall to Montreal 3-2 in a close game & Frank Lampard's debut in the MLS with NYC F.C. during a saturday' afternoon game & in front of a Sell-Out crowd of 27,465 @ Legendary Yankee's Stadium NYC.

Montreal opened the score in the first 5th minute when Dominic Oduro ran down the left field line and kicked the the ball through goalkeeper Josh Saunder's legs for the 1-0 lead.NYC F.C. had control of the ball during the first half but the Montreal' s Impact contra-attack were more effective when in the 32nd minute, Ignacio Piatti scored with one-touched a long ball over Josh Saunder's head into the net for the 2-0 lead at the end of the first half.
In the second half David Villa cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 68th minute giving a chance for NYC F.C to regroup it's offensive attack but Piatti scored his second goal on a penalty shot to make it 3-1 with 6 minutes left into the game.McNamara scored couple minutes later to make it close 3-2 but NYC F.C could not find the equalizer.
Andrea Pirlo made his first MLS start and played all 90 & Lampard joining him along David Villa playing together for the first time in the season. “I hope I’ll be able to continue to improve,” the Italian icon said. “Today I felt fine even though it was very hot.
