NEW YORK, NY (SMI-GLOBAL-SPORTS-UNIVERSITY-APRIL 20-22,2024)-The Harvard women's lacrosse team outscored Columbia 9-1, in the first period as the Crimson defeated the Lions 24-5, to clinched a spot to the 2024 Ivy League championship tournament last Saturday's afternoon at Robert K. Kraft Field, Columbia University in New York City.

With the win, Harvard improves to 10-3, & 4-2, in Ivy league and will participate in the tournament for the third consecutive year joining Princeton, Penn and Yale who is undefeated and will be hosting the championship playoff on May Friday May 03- Sunday May 05, 2024 in New Haven Connecticut. 


The Crimson took control of the game from the start and scored 8-unanswered goals to take a 8-0, comfortable lead in the 11' of first period, a lead that never relinquished to closed out the first period with Harvard leading 9-1, over Columbia.

The attack were led by Maddie Barkate who scored 3-goals while Callie Hem and Riley Campbell added two each in the offensive attack.

In the second period, the Crimson picked-up where they left-off and went in 5-1, scoring spree to increase its lead to 14-2, to put the game out of reach for the Lions and sealed an overpowering 24-5, victory of  Harvard over Columbia.

Harvard were led by Callie Hem and Riley Campbell scoring 5-goals each and Maddie Barkate added 3-goals while Grace Mullahy and Charlotte Hodgson contributed with 2-goals apiece in the victory.
