Fordham Falls To Undefeated Princeton, 67-53 in Fordham Holiday Classic Championship Final Game !

NEW YORK (SMI-WIRE,12.30.14)The Fordham women's basketball team had three players in double figures but falls to undefeated Princeton's Tigers, 67-53 in the final game of the annual Fordham Holiday Classic @ Rose Hill Gym, Fordham University.
The Rams, who came to the game with a 4 winning game streak, took the lead of 10-6 in the first few minutes of the game but Princeton answered back with 10 straight points and a 25-3 run, putting Princeton ahead & a comfortable lead of 31-18 at the end
of the first half.
In the second half Fordham made few runs to overcome the deficit but offensibly could not penetrate the solid defensive line of Princeton, who responded with another 8-2 run to increase their lead of 45-33 with 10 minutes left in the game.
Emily Tapio scored back-to-back layups for the Rams to cut the deficit back to under double digits, but Princeton once again answered with 13 of the next 15 points to take its largest lead of the game, 58-39, with 4:11 to go and sealed the win.
Fordham finished the game shooting 39.6 percent (21-of-53) from the field and held Princeton to one of its lowest percentages of the season at 40.7 percent (24-of-59). The Tigers, who came into the game as the top three-point shooting team in the nation, knocked down 6-of-15, while the Rams connected on only 2-of-7, which proved to be one of the differences in the game.The Rams were led by G'mrice Davis who scored 17 points ,Tiffany Ruffin added 14 points, while Emily Tapio finished with 12 points in the loss.
With the loss Fordham drops to 8-5 overall , while undefeated Princeton improves
to 15-0 overall in teh early season.
