FIT HONORS ITS 2025 Graduating Senior Class with  Its Annual " Future Of Fashion " Runway Show !

NEW YORK, NY(SMI-GLOBAL-FASHION-UNIVERSITY-MAY 08-11, 2025)-The Fashion Institute of Technology(FIT) known as one of the top-university in the world of fashion and design celebrated its annual Future of Fashion Runway Show last evening May 08, sponsored by Macy's,  honoring the 2025 BFA Graduating class designers who have been selected as Critic Award, and Macys's capsule collection winners, exhibiting their collections on professional runway while streamed live worldwide from the Fashion Institute of Technology headquarter in NYC.

The " Future of Fashion" runway show was hosted by Dr. Joyce F. Brown (Fit  President) with opening statements welcoming the attendees and thanking them for being present for this special event.

VIP's in attendance included from the fashion, Entertainment, Press & Sponsors.

 

The 2025 Future of Fashion runway show kicked-off the evening Thursday May 08, featuring over 75+ looks on the runway of the best work from 60+ students who will graduating this year, and announcing the Critic Award winners in five categories:

Sportswear:Alexandra Dayton, Evelyn Henandez, Burak Turp, Yuxiang Xiong, Xiangyu Yang, and Geon Hyung Yu.

 

Special Occasion: Leyi Huang & Yuval Sorotzkin

Knitwear: Lauryn Llasco & Paris Liu

Intimate Apparel: Hannah Kislevich

Children's Wear: Leah Robinson

In addition to FIT's Critic Award winners, Khoboso Nale was awarded as the 2025 Macy's Capsule Collection winner, and Allison Margareth Smith with the Macy's Empowered Design Award.

With Nale winning the Macy's Capsule Collection, She will have the opportunity to gain real-world experience by working alongside Macy's executive mentors at retail and manufacturing locations. The collaboration will culminate in the production and sale of Nate's collection under Macy's private label BAR III, available at the Macy's Herald Square flags.

In the other hand, the Macy's Empowered Design Award given to Allison Margaret Smith is awarded to students who powerfully convey their inspiration through a final design.

This year end event is mentored and judged by industry leaders during the last semester prior to graduation to students, that with their expertise critic student work and select the best designs to be included in this annual event. These judges select the best looks in each of the specializations: intimate apparel, special occasion, knitwear, children’s wear, and sportswear.

  • FIT alumnus Joe Ando-Hirsh, fashion designer, and actor; Kevin Bass, senior associate of programs and Fashion Calendar at the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA); Edmundo Castillo,fashion accessories designer; Vanessa Friedman, fashion director and chief fashion critic, The New York Times; Phillip Lim, fashion designer and creative director; FIT alumna Rebecca Moses, international fashion designer, and author; and Dr. Valerie Steele, director and chief curator of The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology (MFIT).

    • Frederick Anderson, fashion designer, founder of Frederick Anderson, (Sportswear); Esa Azenabor,owner and creative director for Esa Azenabor (Special Occasion); Ronnie Golden Engle, fashion stylist (Sportswear); Sally LaPointe, fashion designer  (Sportswear), FIT alumnus B. Michael, fashion designer (Special Occasion); Dushane Noble, head of design, women’s, Theory, (Knitwear); Albino Riganello, creative director, HERA (Sportswear);Judi Rosen denim designer, (Sportswear);Bridget Stapleton, design director, G&W Industries, (Children’s Wear);Celina Szado, multi-disciplinary designer and creative director, (Sportswear); Felicia Lynch, knitwear designer, KHAITE (Knitwear); Tina Wilson, intimate apparel designer, (Intimate Apparel); and Bonnie Young, ready-to-wear fashion designer, founder, BY.
