NEW YORK, NY (SMI-GLOBAL-SPORTS-UNIVERSITY JAN. 14-17, 2025)-The Columbia University Athletics and Women's Swimming team program honored its 10-senior members on its last home swimming diving-swimming meet of the season against Brown University with diver Macy Pine highlighting the 3M diving competition, and Emily MacDonald in FreeStyle at Uris Natatorium at Columbia University.
Ten athletes were honored during a Pre-Swim Meet ceremony with diving head coach Scott Donie, and head coach Diane Caskey hosting the special event honoring them for their contribution while competing in the Ivy League conference to the Columbia women's swimming program during the last 4-years.
The Columbia women's swimming team competes in the Ancient-8 Ivy League conference that include the US Eastern Region of Elite Universities; Harvard, Princeton,Penn University, Cornell, Brown University, Yale and Dartmouth.
Senior Macy Pine, one of the senior who was honored registered a new program record in her final 3-Meter diving board with 317.40 score for first place and 272.63 for 2nd place in the 1M diving board.
Senior Ashley Hu registered the first win in the meet for Lions with a first place finish in her final 100 breast swim at Uris Natarium, touching the wall with at 1:03.15 time.
In the Sprints competition, Senior Emily MacDonald won two Free Style heat competition setting two new pool records at Uris Natarium in Columbia University. First, she won the 50-FreeStyle with a pool record time of 22.83. and two heats later later, she would win the 100 free with a pool-record time of 49.60.
The Brown Bears overcome and won the Swim Meet with score: 194-106
